Elizabeth Elcombe
Founder and Reading Tutor
Elizabeth is the founder of Minnesota Literacy Consulting. She is a licensed reading teacher in St. Paul, MN and holds a Master's degree in elementary education and Montessori. Elizabeth is certified by the Center for Effective Reading Instruction as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist. She has been an educator since 2006 and has worked as a reading and intervention teacher in a large public school district in the metro area since 2020, where she currently works as a Literacy Specialist for grades K-8 in the district's alternative education department. Elizabeth is an adjunct professor at a private university in St. Paul, where she teaches a course in early literacy education. In addition to her teaching licenses, she holds an AMS Montessori Children's House credential, is trained in Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS), and Orton-Gillingham .
Elizabeth is passionate about literacy and remediating literacy learning challenges using evidence-based reading instruction.
Elizabeth lives in St. Paul with her husband, their two children, two cats, dog, turtle, and a variety of fish.
